ISO 21001, Educational organization – Management system for educational organizations – Requirements with guidelines to use, intended to meet this challenge by defining management system requirements that will help education providers better meet the needs and expectations of students and other beneficiaries, and demonstrate credibility and greater impact

This new International Standard developed by the ISO / PC project committee 2881) focuses on specific interactions between educational institutions, students and other customers. Stand-alone standards, and based on ISO 9001, and harmonized with other ISO management system standards through the application of HLS (High Level Structure)

Educational organizations will benefit by providing more impactful and relevant educational experience that is aligned with the organization’s mission and vision. Students will benefit more because the education services they receive can be more personalized and in accordance with their needs, which ultimately leads to better educational outcomes
By providing a comprehensive set of practices that apply to education service providers across the board, ISO 21001 will help build a stronger education sector and have a positive influence in terms of stimulating innovation and the economy.

Although students and educational organizations throughout the world are the main beneficiaries of this new management system standard, all stakeholders (everyone) will benefit from the output of the standard management system in educational organizations.
Examples of educational organizations include pre-schools, elementary schools, secondary schools, colleges, universities, adult education, vocational education and training, guidance or coaching centers, training organizations, education / training departments, consulting service providers and non-formal education.
All parties involved in implementing the requirements will also benefit from this International Standard (teachers, parents, Government, NGOs, trade unions)
